The Zula Patrol review and giveaway

I love lazy afternoons when Taylor and I can snuggle up on the couch and watch a movie or I'm even satisfied with endless (or so it seems) episodes of Yo Gabba Gabba and Dora. The best part is snuggling up with my kiddo.

Just last week we had some yucky weather so of course it was the perfect day to watch one of "The Zula Patrol" movies we were sent to review. The Zula Patrol is a popular animated science-and-astronomy series for kids that airs Saturday mornings nationally on NBC, as part of qubo, as well as weekdays and weekends on public television stations. The Zula Patrol features a gang of lovable wacky aliens that take kids on a roller coaster fun ride across the Universe, helping them discover interesting facts about science and astronomy in the process. Just perfect for getting kids back into the swing of things for school. Its educational but still fun.

In The Zula Patrol: Animal Adventures in Space!, the gang explores insects, reptiles, mammals, plants and rocks. They learn about how they form as well as how they interact with each other. This DVD easily captured my almost 3 year old's attention. She was so excited to see a butterfly that had transformed from a caterpillar within the first few minutes of this DVD. In addition to Larvae and Leave me (which is the first episode) they are 4 others called: Egg Hunt, There Goes the Neighborhood, Choosing Sides and Camp Worm. No job is too big or too much for these lovable aliens. There are lots of adventures that will be sure to have your kids asking for more.

Taylor loves going out at night and looking for Mister Moon therefore it was no surprise that she fell in love with The Zula Patrol: Moons Mayhem. This DVD contains 6 exciting episodes that begin with a challenge, and end with a resolution. The episodes include: Moon Struck, Blue Moon, Going Through a Phase, Moons Mayhem, Three Ring Gorga and Me, Myself and Io. The Zula gang will, rescue, discover, and explore all kinds of amazing things. I really liked how they discovered the many moons of Jupiter during Jupiterfest. Very cool. Taylor was thrilled to see her Mister Moon over and over again. These DVDs will definitely be able to grow with Taylor as she becomes older and able to comprehend alot more of whats going on in these episodes.

www.zulaworld.com has recently added all kinds of new games and activities to their site. It's an awesome virtual playground for those ages 6 to 10. Check some of these awesome new features:

- The planet Mars is being introduced into Zula’s Solar System, filled with new adventures kids can spend hours exploring.

- The first in a series of Global Community Missions will launch, calling all kids to join in a search for Zula’s missing frogs – and return them to their rightful home!

- After entering each others’ spaceships with a “secret handshake,” kids can test each others’ skills in a multi-player Tic-Tac-Toe game.

- A multi-player Bumper Ship game will provide all the fun of an amusement park ride – deep in outer space!

- Just in time for school, kids will be able to chart their ZulaWorld.com activities in an On-line Journal.

I tried to post something here some time ago, but my blogger account wans't working, if you find another post of me, put this one better! :)
I want you to know your review was featured here! http://opinionveraz.blogspot.com/2009/10/la-patrulla-de-zula-las-mamas-hablan-de.html
and this is what I tried to post:
WOW! Your post it's so interesting mate! Made me smile, What a lovely story!<3 It's so cool your child is interested in space and science! :D maybe she could be a strong scientist tomorrow, I always wanted to be a scientist when I was a kid. The Zula Patrol is awesome, truly awesome!
I'm from Mexico and I had a younger brother, I used to watch cartoon shows with him. We had the chance to see The Zula Patrol once on 2007, in that time the show was on in "Nat Geo and Me" (the kids block from NatGeo) and we found it by chance while changing channels, and my brotherloved it! he found it really cool and I too, cos I love space and science a lot and my first thought was "It's talking about SPACE!!!!" I was so excited! we both were! I only saw a few chapters at a hotel in my vacations because at that time in my house we didn't had tv cable and later it happened NatGeo removed the show here, but I really loved the show! One of the things I love about this show is the originality, it's fresh and spontaneous and well developed, in fact this is the first show for this genre that doesn't made me get bored like other shows my brother used to watch! XD
It's so witty the way in wich the show can combine fun and education, I've never seen a cartoon with that perfect combination! You're so right, this show is surely one who can grow with kids!
Other thing I love is the characters, they're lively and fun, everyone has a really well made personality. LOVE THEM! specially Multo and Bula cos they're a lot like me, they love science and space and discover and explore! Mulo reminds me to myself when I was younger, when I was a kid, by his passion for science and space, because he likes reading and by his so fun and cool and laidback personality!
I watched the show in spanish first, but some time ago I found some clips of the episodes online, mostly the intro, and let me to say I JUST LOVED THE VOICES, specially Multo and Bula's one! they're just so gorgeous!! I watched a clip from "Me, myself and Io" and it was very interesting and fun to see! I loved when Multo said "of all Jupiter Moons Io it's my favorite" and it seems he sings, "Ioooo" XD Loved Io's song in the moons festival too, I would liked to see "Moon mayhem" and "Going through a phase", I saw clips of intro and it seems these are a very amused chapters too.. in fact this is the first show for this genre that doesn't made me get bored like other shows my brother used to watch! XD
