Sooo I'm missing him

I finally got to talk to Bobby the other night, for 14 whole minutes at that. They normally arn't allowed to make phone calls during the week but the TI said whoever answered some question first and ran somewhere the fastest would get a phone call home. Bobby said he busted his ass so he could call me. He makes me so proud!

I really thought I was going to be fine with him being gone but I find that as the days go on I miss him more and more. At least before he left I would have him coming home from work to look forward too, now it's just me and Taylor all day every day. My mama has been great and she comes over over few days to hang out or let me have some mommy time and it really does help me. It's something to look forward to anyways.

When I talked to Bobby he had said that Basic is still gettng better everyday. They now get 3 minutes to eat and 7 minutes to shower and shave. I know he's lost some weight (which wasn't much since he was skinny before he left) but he told me that he's hoping he has a 6 pack when he gets home! Oye! I better for real start attempting to lose a little weight. I am very much looking forward to being able to go to San Antonio for his graduation. Last week I got all the info and the schedule of events sent to me. His graduation is my birthday weekend. We would leave on Wednesday October 28th and come back on Sunday November 1st. All the graduation stuff starts Thursday at 7:00 am. I was hoping it would start later in the day so I could fly in on Thursday but no such luck there.

Anyways, I'm counting down the days till Tay and I get to see daddy! It can't get here soon enough!

Durham County on ION television!

If you are a fan of Desperate Housewives (which I totally am) that you will surely enjoy ION's award winning series called "Durham County". This series has a great combination of crime and drama, which is just about neccessary to capture my attention these days.

This one hour series follows the troubled world of Homicide Detective Mike Sweeney (Hugh Dillon, CBS' "Flashpoint"). Sweeney becomes personally involved in a murder investigation after moving his family to quiet suburbia for a fresh start when his partner is killed and his wife Audrey (Helene Joy) is diagnosed with breast cancer.

"Durham County" premiered on September 7th and will air Monday nights at 10:00 PM on ION as their first original series.

Be sure to visit the Durham County website where you can explore more of the show than what you see on the screen. On the site, you can check out the exclusive clips, sound bites and photos. You can also upload your own secrets, view secrets from others and send them to a friend.

This series is definetly DVR worthy, I have it set and ready to record weekly now!

Anytime Costumes review and giveaway

Anyone who knows me knows that Halloween is my absolute FAVORITE holiday ever. The fact that it is also my birthday is just icing on the cake (literally). I am especially excited about this Halloween because Taylor will really know whats going on. She is already talking about all the candy she'll get.

AnytimeCostumes.com is the perfect place to get all your Halloween costumes and accessories. They carry numerous costumes for each member of the family...dog included! Every year Bobby and I got to a Halloween costume party with a big group of our friends. We all like to dress up and go as a group. We've been gangsters, 80's exercise people and last year we were all the characters from Pac Man. Anytime Costumes has great group costumes that I know my friends would be all over.

Miss Taylor had an opportunity to review a toddler costume of her choice and with dear old mom's help we decided on the Super Girl costume. Once we got it, Taylor could not wait to get it on. That girl thoght she was something else in her costume! It came with everything we needed which was the Supergirl dress with attached cape, boot covers and gold belt. I think Tay looks absolutely adorable in it! The quality of the costume is very nice. It doesn't feel like its going to fall apart any second like some of Tays older costumes. When browsing around at Anytime Costumes I had found a matching Superman Pet costume!!! As long as Tay and I aren't in Texas that weekend I am soooo getting it for Kobe! I think that would have anyone who saw the 2 of them together in hysterics!

Right now at AnytimeCostumes.com they are offering FREE GROUND SHIPPING on orders over $45.00. This offer is good until September 17th. So hurry and order!

AnytimeCostumes.com is offering one lucky reader their choice of any Infant, Toddler, Child or Teen costume.

The Zula Patrol review and giveaway

I love lazy afternoons when Taylor and I can snuggle up on the couch and watch a movie or I'm even satisfied with endless (or so it seems) episodes of Yo Gabba Gabba and Dora. The best part is snuggling up with my kiddo.

Just last week we had some yucky weather so of course it was the perfect day to watch one of "The Zula Patrol" movies we were sent to review. The Zula Patrol is a popular animated science-and-astronomy series for kids that airs Saturday mornings nationally on NBC, as part of qubo, as well as weekdays and weekends on public television stations. The Zula Patrol features a gang of lovable wacky aliens that take kids on a roller coaster fun ride across the Universe, helping them discover interesting facts about science and astronomy in the process. Just perfect for getting kids back into the swing of things for school. Its educational but still fun.

In The Zula Patrol: Animal Adventures in Space!, the gang explores insects, reptiles, mammals, plants and rocks. They learn about how they form as well as how they interact with each other. This DVD easily captured my almost 3 year old's attention. She was so excited to see a butterfly that had transformed from a caterpillar within the first few minutes of this DVD. In addition to Larvae and Leave me (which is the first episode) they are 4 others called: Egg Hunt, There Goes the Neighborhood, Choosing Sides and Camp Worm. No job is too big or too much for these lovable aliens. There are lots of adventures that will be sure to have your kids asking for more.

Taylor loves going out at night and looking for Mister Moon therefore it was no surprise that she fell in love with The Zula Patrol: Moons Mayhem. This DVD contains 6 exciting episodes that begin with a challenge, and end with a resolution. The episodes include: Moon Struck, Blue Moon, Going Through a Phase, Moons Mayhem, Three Ring Gorga and Me, Myself and Io. The Zula gang will, rescue, discover, and explore all kinds of amazing things. I really liked how they discovered the many moons of Jupiter during Jupiterfest. Very cool. Taylor was thrilled to see her Mister Moon over and over again. These DVDs will definitely be able to grow with Taylor as she becomes older and able to comprehend alot more of whats going on in these episodes.

www.zulaworld.com has recently added all kinds of new games and activities to their site. It's an awesome virtual playground for those ages 6 to 10. Check some of these awesome new features:

- The planet Mars is being introduced into Zula’s Solar System, filled with new adventures kids can spend hours exploring.

- The first in a series of Global Community Missions will launch, calling all kids to join in a search for Zula’s missing frogs – and return them to their rightful home!

- After entering each others’ spaceships with a “secret handshake,” kids can test each others’ skills in a multi-player Tic-Tac-Toe game.

- A multi-player Bumper Ship game will provide all the fun of an amusement park ride – deep in outer space!

- Just in time for school, kids will be able to chart their ZulaWorld.com activities in an On-line Journal.

One lucky reader will have the opportunity to win a set of The Zula Patrol DVD's and 10 runner ups will win a voucher for 1 free month at www.zulaworld.com .
